Rama Krishna Vadakattu is a seasoned Senior Engineering Manager with over 16 years of experience in the technology industry. Currently, he is working at PayPal as a Senior Engineering Manager in the Data Services Team. He is leading the Elastic search as a service team and has played a key role in building LOM (lights out management) capabilities for the Elastic search clusters. This includes automating the detection of failures in the elastic cluster and taking appropriate remediation action to bring the cluster to the normal state, such as adding nodes, assigning unassigned shards, and restarts. Rama has also been involved in the complete end-to-end automation of cluster creation. Prior to PayPal, he worked at eBay as a Member of Technical Staff 2. During his tenure, he led the shipping and eBay guarantee teams for various eBay.in initiatives. One of his key projects was the development of real-time shipping analytics, which helped businesses and operations provide real-time insights about the packages sellers ship on a daily basis. He also mentored the team to deliver several new features like SNAD/INR timeline checks, SMS integration, and other miscellaneous features. Apart from his corporate experience, Rama is also a co-founder of a few applications like Social Reader and Httpfuse. Social Reader brings interesting articles for a particular topic by scanning across entire social media like Twitter, Friendfeed, Facebook. Httpfuse application is all about people collaborating on links for a topic instead of content like wiki. Rama holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from the National Institute of Technology Warangal and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from SSJ Engineering College.
